About us
Gubra Green is Gubra’s dedicated business unit for investing beyond our own footprint. As the first listed company to formalise a profit-allocation mechanism in its Articles of Association, Gubra annually allocates 10% of pre-tax profits to investments that support greenhouse gas emissions reductions and biodiversity restoration.
We invest directly in tangible, long-term assets, land and technologies, either through full ownership or in partnership, where impact is measurable and lasting. Guided by clear investment principles and a commitment to transparency and integrity, we invest to help catalyse broader action for planetary health.

Solar power and battery storage
We have built a combined solar and battery park in Denmark, capable of generating 2 MW of solar energy, enough to power ~500 households annually or match Gubra’s operational electricity use. The battery stores up to 8 MWh, enabling grid balancing and optimized energy use.

Across Langeland, Hem Skov and Understed Bakker, Gubra Green is supporting biodiversity and nature restoration across more than 850 hectares. That’s roughly 1,200 European standard soccer fields, or about twice the size of Copenhagen’s city center.

Each initiative is grounded in a clear objective: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and restore biodiversity in ways that can be documented and tracked. We do this because human health depends on planetary health. Without a stable climate and functioning ecosystems, long-term human well-being is at risk. Just as we rely on science to develop new therapies to address unmet medical needs, we rely on science and apply the same rigor to restoring natural systems and reducing emissions. For us, it is one continuum: advancing human health by supporting the health of the planet.
Langeland: From farmland to thriving ecosystems
On the island of Langeland, we are transforming former agricultural land into a diverse natural landscape. The project focuses on restoring ecosystems, improving biodiversity, and creating long-term environmental value. We are developing a mosaic of forests, wetlands, and open grasslands, supporting local species and rebuilding natural habitats over time.

Spectra: Renewable energy for a resilient future
Spectra is our combined solar and battery park, supporting the transition to renewable energy. The project contributes clean electricity to the grid while improving energy stability and resilience. It enables us to generate renewable energy beyond our own needs and supports the broader green transition.

Understed Bakker: 384 hectares returning to nature
At Understed Bakker in northern Jutland, a hilly landscape of former farmland and forest, we are converting 384 hectares into a connected natural landscape. The area is among the 149 highest-priority sites for connected nature in Denmark, identified in a 2024 report from the University of Copenhagen. Working with our advisors, we are restoring natural hydrology, grazing and open forest – a process that will develop over decades rather than years.

Hem Skov: Space for natural processes
At Hem Skov near Mariager Fjord in Himmerland, we are managing 310 hectares of forest and land with biodiversity as the primary purpose. Our focus is on letting natural processes take the lead, giving water, deadwood and undisturbed habitats more room over time. Like Understed Bakker, the area is one of the priority sites for connected nature identified by the University of Copenhagen.

Battery Storage: Building More Resilient Energy Infrastructure
Battery storage helps organisations use available energy more efficiently by storing power when demand or tariffs are low, then redistributing it during peak demand. This can reduce pressure on the grid, lower peak-demand charges, and support more resilient energy infrastructure.
