Laboratory Technician (Laborant) for Peptide Synthesis and Purification

Gubra is now looking for a Laboratory technician to join the growing Chemistry & IP group. The candidate should have a flair and interest for peptide synthesis and the techniques associated with that. The candidate is self-motivated, can navigate and collaborate in an energetic organization, and is ready to set ambitious high standards for the output of the group.  
Gubra is a very dynamic and data/delivery driven young company. Our workdays can be quite hectic with rapid changes and it is therefore essential that you have a flexible attitude. At Gubra, we strongly believe in advancing science by continuously testing our hypotheses and trying to answer questions by conducting scientific studies in the animal facilities or in the laboratory. As a laboratory technician in our Chemistry & IP group, you are supporting this vision by taking ownership in developing and creating high quality data. 
Going forward the Chemistry & IP group will then consist of 8 scientists and 4 technicians. The group supports Gubra drug discovery projects by delivering novel peptide drug candidates in high quality. As laboratory technician in the Chemistry & IP group you will be part of all aspects of the peptide synthesis workflow.  

Thus your primary tasks are varied, but include
  • Automated solid-phase peptide synthesis 
  • Chemical modifications to peptides, either on-resin or in solution 
  • Preparative HPLC purification 
  • Characterization and identification by LC-MS 
  • Quantification by LC-CAD 
  • Freeze drying    
  • Data processing, peptide registration and synthesis documentation 
Desired skills, experience, and professional qualifications: 
  • You have a genuine interest and a solid work experience with peptide synthesis 
  • You hold a certified laboratory technician diploma or similar 
  • You have skills within data handling and reporting of data 
  • You are strong in verbal and written communication both in Danish and English 
Personal qualifications: 
  • You are open and honest 
  • You are not afraid to take responsibility and initiative 
  • You know how to work with others and you share your knowledge 
  • You find it motivating being part of and developing a small team 
  • You are good planner 
  • You have a flexible attitude 
  • You have an analytical sense and problem-solving ability
